Being Female is Like the Moon

On a blog I was reading the other day the blogger was remarking about not being able to figure women out. On another there was a dear soul having a bad day.......like we women tend to have from time to time, myself as you may have read, definately included.
This got me to thinking today......

We are "woman". And that being is full of complexities. Like it or not, for some reason we were made that way.
We are likened to the Moon in that each day our body changes.....our mood changes.
Like the tides that are pulled by the Moon , so too are we pulled... it sometimes seems.

To our beloved mates we seem full of contradictions, full of mystery. We are the "unknown".

But how glorious it is to be woman. We are the nurturers of this world. "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" as the saying goes.
We`ve been given the gift of fruitfulness, compassion, creativity, passion and intuition.

Oh, the pity that "woman" must wait until the autumn and winter of her life to know the fullness and wisdom of womanhood and to reveal that jewell that had been shaping inside. The raw material slowly uncovering a ruby as the years go by. And the inner battle as this occurs my dear sweet female friends, is only us all still chipping away, trying to fully reveal that gem.

We women and the Moon......well, that`s my best reasoning.
Mysterious, complex, secretive, beautiful, enticing , brilliant....... things not being quite what they seem to our poor other halves at times, glowing one minute, shadowy the next, changing.........ever changing..........

Bella Luna, and how very true indeed.
Embrace your womanhood and its beauty

How right you are that so many women don't realise their full potential or have real self-confidence until they are older. It's really only in the last few years that I've become quite confident of my self worth and abilities. At 40 I learnt to say 'No', then I started travelling abroad by myself, in my 50s I stopped being a doormat and realised that in fact I am a much stronger character than my husband - he just makes more noise! In the next couple of weeks I turn 60 and instead of saying things like 'I'd love to be able to spin, do natural dyeing etc etc I'm actually going to do it. The moon is cool and quiet looking but it exerts a great deal of power.

Women are complex? Men are just as difficult to figure out. Just as there's variety among females, there's variety among men. And it's feast or famine: either there aren't enough men to go around, or we're fending them off with a bat.

And... to sum it all up... men are like parking spaces. The good ones are taken, and the rest are handicapped.

I agree....there`s variety in both, very much so. Not all the good ones are taken though. I know a couple of fantastic single guys and mine luckily was available when I found him. He`s 100 % tops and also my best friend.

Great post and an accurate comparison. Very poetic too. Hugs to my friend Tea.

I love your painting. Yes we do achieve wonderful things as we age, we have wisdom and understanding and are brimming with creativity, we enter the age of the goddess where our wisdom unfolds like the petals of a flower. xx

How true your words and your painting is wonderful. We are definitely like the moon, we wax and wane but we are steadfastly the light.
