Three women reported similar incidents to police and two of the women reported the suspect was on a bicycle. The various incidents allegedly occurred over the last two months. The suspect is described as white, in his early twenties, with a brown goatee and a large gap between his front teeth.

There Really Should Be a Law Against All This......

"There I was minding my own and having my afternoon cat nap...."

"Then she decides to take up all the carpets! I could see taking them up if there were new ones to replace them. But really! And this constant changing things round. Meeeow. "

"And then snapping a pic of the dog end.I call it the dog end because there`s not a cat thing in sight. And that spooky old messy bookcase filled with strange collections. The chair not even fitted and sewn yet. Silly Mum. She best watch it or I might just use one of her new plants as my litter box!"

Love Amongst Fabric......

"Beige, green....purple...orange...whichever. This is still my couch remember..."

"Ahhh yes.....this will still work....."

And later on someone else tries it out.
"I`ve always prefered a mess...."

"Bit tricky here though...."

The other morning I was able to snap these before the ducks noticed me....

They decided to sun themselves all in a row....

Hubby took the pictures of Elvis yesterday while I was at work and now I see why he was so anxious for me to have a look at them LOL

Something Much More Serious Than Usual

Missing Madeleine!

This precious little soul needs our prayers. This, like so many other cases is heart rippingly horrendous. What needs to be done to people who abduct children isn`t fit for me to write here. David from SÓ VERDADES blog http://sverdades.blogspot.com/ asked me to post this picture. With all the blogs in blog land maybe just maybe someone reading one will have seen her. It`s worth trying, so if you think so too, please post this.
Madeleine, MeCann was abduted from Praia da Luz, Portugal on 03/03/07.

If you have any information about her whereabouts, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800555111 Please Help

An Eventful Weekend

All day Saturday I worked on two of the chairs, as well as Sunday morning. The room is still a disaster and mismatched but I`m getting there slowly. We had a really nice time at the BBQ. I was mostly just cutting and pinning. Tons of sewing ahead, and potting trim on etc. Aren`t cats supposed to hate change? Angus just refused to keep out of my way. They all had turns checking new fabrics out....

"tum tee tum....I don`t hear you"

I ran out if the stripe for this chair but luckily had some check that was exactly the same colour so I did the arms in that. When both chairs are finished I`ll post a couple of pictures. And then there`s a pull out couch and a small chair left and then pillows and then rug and then....it doesn`t seem to end!

Elvis sat amongst the mess while I cut and pinned and hubby rested and did research on his laptop. Fabric and cords everywhere. I`m going to take up these carpets soon and just have a little throw one for Elvis till I get the proper match I think. They really clash now....

We decided on having Chinese food for supper so I ran out to get some and we ate it in the frontroom.....with the usual pair in audience looking on.......

This chair is the same one in the above pic behind Elvis. Waverly fabric for $4.99 a metre. Turning out better than I hoped...Better than Teddy hoped too, it seems.....

"Zzzzzzzzzzz"

Oh and how could I not have one or two of these this weekend? :) Hubby is recovering slowly. Not near as fast as he had hoped though. Thanks so much everyone for the well wishes! They are greatly appreciated.

Happy Mother`s Day and Desiderata

Want to wish every mother a very happy Mother`s Day for tomorrow. We`re having a family BBQ. My daughter is off to Manitoba for work tomorrow so won`t be able to come but my son and siblings and Mum and Dad are all getting together with hubby and me. Hopefully he will be able to walk better tomorrow. It`s been quite the time lately. He put his back out and wasn`t able to even move Friday morning. He`s not one to complain when he`s sick, so when he cried out everytime he tried to move, I knew it was real bad. Had to call the ambulance to get him to the hospital. We were there from 6am until noon. Nothing got rid of the pain. His back is healthy the x-rays said though luckily. Finally they gave some some muscle relaxers to take home and this morning we went to the chyropractor to get an ultrasound which he was told helps tremendously for these things. His hip was out and the muscles boomeranged everywhere in spasms. Between the pills and the chyro we think it`s slowly improving. He`s still in trendous pain if he moves to get up, but not constant, like yesterday.
While at the chyropractors, I saw this plaque on the wall and liked it so much that I wanted to share it with you. It`s not especially for Mother`s Day. But not everyone is a mother, so this for you too :) Have a wonderful weekend. I`m back to do some more sewing and nursing...........

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Pillow Madness and Squirrel Rescue.....

We`ve only got one vehicle on the road at the moment. I`ve been keeping up with driving still so I don`t forget LOL Hubby worked nearby in winter and drove me because I was too chicken to drive in the ice and snow mess. They have cut back largely on salting the roads. Now his van needs tending to and he has to find some time to repair it, so my Mum took me over to Lens Mill Warehouse to the their other little building and I got more pillows! We dug and we dug and I stood on a wire shopping basket upside down (the basket, not me) and dug some more to the bottom of the three huge boxes. They aren`t feather like I thought, but feel and lay like feather and for $2.50 a pop, who could resist? The one at the bottom on the far right will definately be recovered and probably a couple of the light green ones and maybe the top left one too, unless it matches okay. Still nicer and cheaper than buying pillow forms. Another piece of fabric, top right to recover one with. They said "Euro Trend" on the tags if that means anything. Made for pennies of course, sadly by people who only recieve a few pennies to make them most likey. Seems everythings that way now. And here I am contributing to it :(

Last night I kept hearing a rattling sound and couldn`t think where it was coming from. This morning I saw Isobell up on the beam at the wall and a little brown squirrel actually walking across the wall! "Oh my god, D, quick! Come here!" I yelled to my hubby in the kitchen. Nothing much we could do at 6 am in the morning and the squirrel gone into the attic to hide. We had visions of the poor creature starving to death.
I went into the barn and grabbed a long and a short fish net, just in case.
Later on before I was leaving with my Mum, the squirrel made another appearance. With another silent prayer I pleaded that I could catch the poor little guy. He eventually ran up top of the kitchen cupboards, whilst Elvis and Teddy looked on anxiously. Then onto the counter after much of my previous useless pursuit of grabbing chairs to reach the beams where he hid in the hall. I plopped the small net over him on the counter, grabbed his tail through it and took him squealing all the way.... him, not me :O), outside and put him in the willow tree. Two prayers answered in a matter of a few days!
Off to work the late shift soon. But I have all my fabric and pillows and the squirrel was rescued from those beastly cats :)
No possible way to take a picture by myself so I scooped this one for you....

Last Post Continued......

"Aww Mum!"

"Can`t a dog eat his chew bone in peace?"

Rawhide and Fabric

Had a wonderful time on Saturday with my son. We went to East Side Marios and then to see "Fracture" with Anthony Hopkins. Really good movie!
The other day we took Elvis to the vet for his heartworm pills and rabies shot. Our vet is so perfect for what he does. We secretly call him Doctor Dolittle because he loves having a conversation with his patients and dotes on their sloppy kisses.
He checked his teeth and said they weren`t too bad for a 10 year old although there was some plaque and a little inflamation at the back. He recommended before having to spend $300 to get his teeth cleaned, that we give him rawhide to chew. Said his newest dog`s teeth were a lot worse and have cleared up from that. Elvis wants to take the rawhide outside and bury it though, so we have to keep our eye on him when he has one LOL

He`s also afraid of thunderstorms and we thought we`d give these natural drops a try. Doctor Dolittle said that they are money back guarenteed and that only one person wasn`t satisfied with them. So we`ll see what happens next thunderstorm.

After going to four stores on the weekend and saying a silent prayer that this was my last chance to find what I was looking for, so please help me find what I was looking for, I found some fabric at each one. Couldn`t find a large block green and white check but I`m happy with these. And there were some feather stuffed cushions for $2.50 each! I`m going back for more and if I can`t find the right colours will use them to recover. They sit nice and are the closest to down feathers I`m going to get :)
Here`s the batch of stuff I bought. I`ve decided yet again to use a bit of pale turquiose with the green and white as an accent and also a very small bit of peachy silk fabric that also has a fuschia sheen to it on a pillow or two. Not sure if I`ll use this yellow striped pillow but I liked it and can always use it somewhere else. Loved the turqoise one! Hopefully I can go back and dig for a couple more of the turquoise. They were all in 3 huge cardboard boxes on for half price! Everything was on sale and I didn`t spend any higher than 9.99 per metre. The far left green roses jaquard or tapestry was on for $5 a metre! And the whitest one there , a Waverly was $6! The pale peach and stripe were just pieces so I may use them or not. We`ll see. Definately that brilliant silk and the turquoise pattern though. The tulip piece, maybe. The green couch fabric looks a little off from the rest in this pile but doesn`t look so bad at all in real next to it all. And it is a cottagey room that begs for colour, rather than all the pale you see in some rooms in magazines, though stunningly beautiful, not the best with males and animals or me for that matter. Somehow something nice, hopefully will occur out of this pile of fabric, minus or plus something. I`ll see how it goes as I go along with each piece. I sure give real designers a whole lot of credit because it really is hard to figure this all out. A lot of time and mind changing LOL So now the rest of the work begins.........

Happy Weekend!

Look at the sun coming up this morning. I thought this looked really cool.
This is the vegetable garden. I`m not sure if we`ll be able to get it done this year in time. I could have hubby just make a wooden box in that far right hand corner part where it was going (the area where most of the bricks are under the plastic and dead grass)and then just brick around the sides for the extended patio still. I do have the "Square-inch Gardening" book. But the way I want it is going to take a lot of work and time. The work is no problem, but the time limit, end of May due date is. Hubby says he needs to make a wood frame filled with concrete to make a base to mortar the three high layers of brick. Sweety is strapped for time on the weekends with his two hour travel back and forth for the kids and work has gotten a lot busier. I wonder if he showed me how to do it, if I could? Hmmmmm. The box would be so much faster but really would spoil the look of the patio we did. I don`t have the heart to expect him to do it , after working so hard all day, even though he says he will. Any ideas on how to camouflage a large sandbox to look like it`s just bricks? That would be quick and easier. And give me enough time to plant after the last frost.
More flowers have sprouted out front in our late spring. Notice the bare patch LOL.

Breakfast time....

"Me too"...

"I don`t need any breakfast. I`m self sufficiently contained for weeks".....

"Hey! Gimme that camera!"

It`s my son`s birthday today. Twenty two years ago I was rushed into emergency for a cesarean and out came a 9 pound 10 ounce baby boy. We`re spending the day together. Lunch and a movie maybe or a matinee and a bite to eat afterwards. Party time for him tonight later on with his friends. We would both take him out but Hubby`s daughter is in a school musical "Chicago" this same day. Wish it wasn`t the same time because I would have loved to see it with him. I hate when this happens. Makes me feel bad. These things happen when you both have kids from past marriages I guess.
I haven`t any more pictures to post of decorating because it really hasn`t gotten much farther yet sadly. Do they not make green and white fabric anywhere!? I`m getting frustrated. Even searching and wasting hours on the net hasn`t helped. Last chance tomorrow. My Mum and I are going to check out the local Fabricland and Bou Claire. Went to the ones out of town and nill. Even went to that Blind Ambition in st Jacobs with hubby last weekend. Would anyone like some lovely fabric? It`s there for a mere $700 a yard. Not all of course, but holy crap! You could feed a family for a month on that. To be fair, there were some samples for $30 a yard or metre, but nothing I was looking for.
Wish me luck cause I`m really getting tired of looking at a green couch sitting amongst a leopard chair and various caramel furnishings :( The curtains look nice though LOL
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
