Early Morning Views and It`s Another Day.....

When I let Elvis out this morning, the air was full of mist and all was quiet and peaceful. I let him out the back door so I could catch a glimpse of the work in progress once more....

I realized yesterday that the sand was too wet to do anything with and that string was needed to map out a straight line to get these bricks looking right. Got frustrated with the whole thing and went back inside and made these instead....

Peanut Butter Squares

1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
2 cups peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
5 cups Rice Krispies (I used Special K)
1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips

1. In a heavy saucepan heat sugar and corn syrup until sugar completely dissolves.
2. Stir in peanut butter and mix well.
3. Stir in cereal and mix well.
4. Immediately spread into a greased jelly roll pan.
5. Melt choc.
6. chips in microwave until smooth and spread over top of bars.
7. Refrigerate until set.
8. Cut into small bars.

Gooey Rice Krispie Squares

1/2 cup margarine or butter
5 cups miniature marshmallows
1 tablespoon maple flavoring
6 cups crispy rice cereal (again I used Special K)

1. In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add marshmallows; stir until melted and well blended. Remove from heat.
2. Stir in flavoring. Add cereal, stirring until coated.
3. Using lightly-buttered spatula, press into buttered 13 X 9" pan. Cool and cut into squares.

Today is another day and it`s supposed to actually be sunny, so I`ll try again.
I`ve been seeing on other blogs "100 Things You Never Knew About Me" and it`s been interesting to read them. I`ve never really thought about doing one myself because it might make for boring reading LOL. But I may make a list and post it sometime when my mind is blank and my camera has run out of batteries again.

Your garden looks so pretty with the mist in the air. I think the brick looks great.

And, yes, please do a 100 list. They are so much fun and it's always nice to learn things about a friend.

I think you're trying to sabotage my diet with those recipes! I'll concentrate on the flowers instead - is that a delphinium? What a fabulous shade of blue, and I agree with Janet that the mist adds a feeling of mystery to the garden picture. There could well be fairies and elves out there. Well, Janet said it looked pretty but same difference I think.

Rownan,

This blue flower is a larkspur but it does look like a delphimium.

Everything is so green and lovely. Everything in my yard is dried out and ready for fall. That brick work looks better every time you show it!

Your beautiful garden is looking so cottagey! We have a brick path just like that! It is hard work - but rewarding! Can't wait for more photos - and some of Elvis! Clare x
