Coronation Street is Back For Us!

I love old photos and though neither are of my own family, they caught my interest. The first one is quite famous, taken during WW2 I believe. Isn`t it great! Getting everything up and running truly was a celebration and this suited!

Hubby figured out how to get our satellite pointing in the right direction and Coronation Street is now watchable from our very own frontroom! But then, I already knew that yesterday would be the day :)
This second one is unknown, but it looks to be taken at some point long ago possibly in Eastern Europe somewhere. Notice the little faces gazing out of the window....

Hooray you can watch Coronation Street !!
I will miss it when I am away for two weeks..!
I've tried taping it, but who has all that time to sit and watch so many episodes at once..?
The photos are great, I am familiar with the first one,but in the second one ...is she telling him his fortune..?
It's a neat photo whatever they are doing.

Love the first photo. I saw an interview last year with the woman being kissed. She apparently never knew the sailor who kissed her. She and her friends had gone to welcome the troops back!

You will enjoy the satellite stations I'll bet and I am going to enjoy trying your recipe for bruschetta .. mmmm.

Sheila...yes, she`s reading his cards by the look of it. I wonder what his question was? They both look so very poor. Maybe he`s asking when he will find enough work to feed those children.
Pictures hold so many stories.

Kahshe Cottager....that would have been an interesting interview. It does give that impression. That he just grabbed her and kissed her. Risque' yet so romantic :)

=^..^=

These are fabulous shots ...
I adore old photographs too! Such stories they tell.
The first is a VERY famous shot from LIFE magazine ... Taken at the end of WII ... wonderful, isn't it? The second I haven't seen before!

Really like it too. Gorgeous shot!

The picture [of the couple at the table] is such a lovely composition ... what really makes it for me was discovering the two onlookers peering out the window!

I wonder too ... what was his question?
You should have a contest! Ask your readers!

Ummmm ... Now this picture will haunt me.
Wondering what the story behind it is ...

Very wonderful.

I've been trying to leave a comment but can't seem to get it to "stick"

Just to say that I'm happy you've got your fix of Coronation Street. When I lived in NY, I used to religiously watch Brit coms every Friday night...little did I know that one day I'd live here!

Also, Pearl and I borrowed a picture from your blog. You posted it back in December. I hope you don't mind.

Love the nostalgia of the top photo. Made me think of this modern version from Parisdailyphoto:
