Bruschetta, Blueberry Pie and Antenna Troubles....

The snow is still coming down with a vengence. It just keeps on coming :( Sure, it may be pretty but it makes the roads very hazardous. This is a picture from this morning......

We went to Jack Astors the other night and I had the best bruschetta bread I`ve ever had! I`ve been trying to re-produce it and think I have it down pat.
Chopped Roma tomatoes...I only had regular though. Chopped onions and a clove of minced garlic....

It was drizzled with a balsamic vinegar glaze which I found on the web. 1 cup Balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup Water
1/4 cup Brown sugar....lightly boil adding 1 tblsp. corn starch...

Also had a bit of Sour cream Aioli (Garlic Mayo) on top as a garnish. ½ tsp dry mustard, pinch of sugar, 1/2 tsp minced garlic, 2 tbsp. olive oil, 1/2 cup sour cream mixed together....

You need grated parmesan cheese and feta cheese. Italian bread, more garlic and then fresh basil tops it off. Brush bread slices with olive oil and garlic and grill both sides.

Jack Astors presentation was waaaaaay nicer than this though LOL But it did taste the same.

Then I made a blueberry pie. Canned filling but home made crust......

I put tin foil around the edges later so the crust wouldn`t get too brown.....

Yummy.......

Our antenna is frozen and it`s preventing us from watching Coronation Street!

Hubby is investigating but decided also to go and pick up one of those "free to air" satellite dishes. Now he is just trying to figure out the last part of the puzzle....the programming`s last bit. I guess it`s like stopping and asking for directions when you`re lost. The answers a phone call away, but he wants to figure it out himself. The crazy thing is....like everything else....I know he will, cause he always does LOL
This little number will be going up on the antenna tower eventually, but at the moment sits on the cat thingy in the front garden...

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Oh -- winter can be so taxing. I grew up in Michigan and lived several years in New York and I know how tiresome the snow can become.

Your pie looks lovely. Blueberry is one of my favorites.

Wow, what a difference in weather than what I have here in California. It rained here this morning but now the sun is out and I have the front door open enjoying the fresh air. Your pie looks so good now I want to make one.

I LOVE Italian bread. All kinds. Bruschetta, pizza, chibatta, Tuscan loaves, focaccio, etc.,etc., etc. I wish I could go to Italy just to eat the bread.

The bruschetta and blueberry pie look really good, I love blueberry anything. The snow looks lovely but it does make life difficult if you have to go anywhere. Much nicer to stay home and look at it through the window unless you are in the country and can walk or ski in it.

Hello again, Tea (who IS this, you're wondering???). So, a photo-safari through a couple's wintry Sunday. Not time lost, was it? The recipe sand pics have given my neglected appetite a huge boost! Both dishes look perfect to me. And why can't I find aioli in Portugal, when every other garlic-related product is here in abundance? I usually make it myself, with a little easy improvisation, though it's not quite the same.
I'm dumbfounded by the idea that it is only 6 weeks to Christmas, according to your countdownometer. Just like a year ago, we are having the worst, coldest days of the winter here, and much worsae than any of the 10 previous that I have been living here. Yuuggghh!

Wow, the bread looks fantastic as does the pie. It is snowing here as well and I have to go out into it in about a half an hour. I would rather not but that is the way things are sometimes.

I have copied the recipe! Thanks bunches! Hugs!

Tea, I can't believe that. If you hadn't asked me, I'd never have known! Returned definitely with an altered personality/brain!! Flying backwards to Xmas..what kind of lapse is that? I do NOT want to go there...AAArrrggghh!! Will have to triple-check everything I say & do from now on LOL!
