Continuing My Sometimes Overwhelming Project

I`m finally able to get back to this slipcover business. I have the whole day off today! Thank you so much everyone for all the lovely comments. I`m still trying to get over to visit. Hopefully I can do some of that before we head off to a surprise 40th birthday party for my brother-in-law tomorrow.

I`ve been hearing on the radio lots lately about this place in St. Jacobs called Blind Ambition. It`s the largest fabric store in Ontario and next month I`m paying them a visit to continue putting together some fabrics for everything else in the frontroom.
Here`s one side of the couch arm finished although the back part isn`t done yet. I have to make it so it slides off somehow. I`ll worry about that later. Need to do some parts I can see so I keep inspired about all this work...

Teddy really has moved since the last picture but sits here while I`m doing the pillows and now he has another couch buddy. One cushion done except for the back zipper and cord trim on the front...

I had to take a picture of this guy too. He`s laying on an old runner rug of my sister`s we`ve put down for now until we get a proper one. It`s much safer for Elvis when he comes galloping down the hall....

I love the colours in this picture and am going to use them as another jump off point . The walls are white and one large couch totally green and add more white and green with the other colours here. Eventually I`ll have a totally clear idea I hope LOL...

Back to work now. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Where in St Jacobs is that store? I haven't heard of it, but sounds like a place I should visit! (I might actually be popping over to St Jacobs on Saturday.) I was at Lens Mill in Cambridge last Saturday and I as amazed at all the fabric and stuff they have in there. Your couch is looking good. You've done such a great detailed job on that arm!

That picture ... I have a sheet of plastic on my desk here at work with pictures under it that I like and that make me smile, and that is one of them!!! We almost bought it for our house a few years ago as well!

Teddy and Angus seem to approve of your efforts so far with the slip covers, me too! I envy people who can do stuff like that. Elvis seems to like the runner too - he has such a sweet face,I can never see too many photos of him.
The picture is just beautiful, lovely serene colours, they would be so easy to live with. It makes me think of a lovely old plantation house in somewhere like Charleston or Savannah. I could step straight into that picture and live there happily.

As a fellow cat owner, my first thought was, what a lovely new cover just ready to take on a layer of ginger fur - why is it that gingers seem to shed more than any other type...anyway, I am always in awe of anyone who can make such lovely home furnishings.

pg and Rowan....
Not sure it`s going to turn out so good but hopefully nice enough for an amateur :)

Jackie,

It across from the stock yards is what the radio said. So not actually right in the village. Pretty sure the address is St Jacobs though. They have a web page with where it is.....

The cover is looking really good...of course it helps when you have such great models to decorate the shots ;)That picture makes me think of a gentle summer breeze; warm, balmy, just stirring the air softly and the hum of 'good' insects! (no plant eaters allowed)
Have a great day :)

Tea, you are doing such a professional job!
I am impressed with the sofa arm, and I think that must be the mnost difficult part to do.
Enjoy your weekend..!

Bravo, Tea! Your work is impressive, and deserves all the praise :) I love the bit about the runner making it safer for Elvis's gallop!

Hello Tea,

I'm really happy you're not giving up on what you really want! On another totally unrelated note, your pets are really cute.

Oh you are so talented!!!!!!!! I'd love to be able to make a slipcover for our sitting room couch. It's odd shaped and hard to find one, already made. Plus they cost so much.

Naturally, even if you make it, they aren't cheap. But ... you can make one.

And I love the color. And I've seen that picture before and love it too. I'm sure I'd feel very happy in your planned decorating scheme.

Looks really nice~
so far, you and I are sharing brain waves~ I've been looking for most of the Winter for washable bed linens in a certain old-gold color, something with sheen to it, not too thin, to use to cover my couch cushions with (I've got a history of using bed linens for sewing projects!~ such generous amounts of fabric, usually less expensive than fabric from our local fabric stores.)

I've been keeping my eyes open, but so far, no luck! Will keep searching for it, though.

Your sewing looks great! You must be fearless!

I am so impressed! It doesn't even look like a slipcover, it looks like you had a professional reupolster it.

I think your animal companions are the most overwhelmed over all of this. Gosh they love you! They follow you all over! My kitty loves me and follows me all over too. She's a wonderful daughter. :)
