Happy Weekend!

Look at the sun coming up this morning. I thought this looked really cool.
This is the vegetable garden. I`m not sure if we`ll be able to get it done this year in time. I could have hubby just make a wooden box in that far right hand corner part where it was going (the area where most of the bricks are under the plastic and dead grass)and then just brick around the sides for the extended patio still. I do have the "Square-inch Gardening" book. But the way I want it is going to take a lot of work and time. The work is no problem, but the time limit, end of May due date is. Hubby says he needs to make a wood frame filled with concrete to make a base to mortar the three high layers of brick. Sweety is strapped for time on the weekends with his two hour travel back and forth for the kids and work has gotten a lot busier. I wonder if he showed me how to do it, if I could? Hmmmmm. The box would be so much faster but really would spoil the look of the patio we did. I don`t have the heart to expect him to do it , after working so hard all day, even though he says he will. Any ideas on how to camouflage a large sandbox to look like it`s just bricks? That would be quick and easier. And give me enough time to plant after the last frost.
More flowers have sprouted out front in our late spring. Notice the bare patch LOL.

Breakfast time....

"Me too"...

"I don`t need any breakfast. I`m self sufficiently contained for weeks".....

"Hey! Gimme that camera!"

It`s my son`s birthday today. Twenty two years ago I was rushed into emergency for a cesarean and out came a 9 pound 10 ounce baby boy. We`re spending the day together. Lunch and a movie maybe or a matinee and a bite to eat afterwards. Party time for him tonight later on with his friends. We would both take him out but Hubby`s daughter is in a school musical "Chicago" this same day. Wish it wasn`t the same time because I would have loved to see it with him. I hate when this happens. Makes me feel bad. These things happen when you both have kids from past marriages I guess.
I haven`t any more pictures to post of decorating because it really hasn`t gotten much farther yet sadly. Do they not make green and white fabric anywhere!? I`m getting frustrated. Even searching and wasting hours on the net hasn`t helped. Last chance tomorrow. My Mum and I are going to check out the local Fabricland and Bou Claire. Went to the ones out of town and nill. Even went to that Blind Ambition in st Jacobs with hubby last weekend. Would anyone like some lovely fabric? It`s there for a mere $700 a yard. Not all of course, but holy crap! You could feed a family for a month on that. To be fair, there were some samples for $30 a yard or metre, but nothing I was looking for.
Wish me luck cause I`m really getting tired of looking at a green couch sitting amongst a leopard chair and various caramel furnishings :( The curtains look nice though LOL
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Hi,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog! I'm so glad I found yours, too. Love the redo pictures.

we're itching to get in our garden and get it tilled and planted, but its still too wet. Maybe next week.

We did our brick patio with left over house bricks, too!
They never did get completely filled in with sand...the holes in the bricks were the culprit. LOL
But we love the look.

Oh, and I am sooo making the Penne pasta dish for dinner tonight. :)

Hi Tea - isn't springtime fantastic? Your garden seems so organized and you know just what to do.

We had a fence repaired and they destroyed our lawn in a spot by the fence so I just put some bricks around it and put some potted flowers in there and that's going to be my garden. For now.

Cute pictures of the kitty cats. You must have a very fun household.

Hi Tea,
The picture is beautiful. Perfect timing. Today has been mostly overcast. Kind a like I'm feeling today. I just put my hubby on a plane for England. :( He's got to give some sort of talk. I know he'll come back with jet lag due to the big time difference. It's always been something we've talked about doing together and we will. He's been there before.

I'm kinda hoping for rain tonight as the lawn needs and we have water restrictions.
Have a good week. Hope you find some green cloth. Have you tried JoAnn Fabrics? It's here in the states but they have a web site. :)

Seems whenever we're searching for a certain colour, it's just not around or in style of something...go figure;)Garden is looking good! Wish I had a clever suggestion for your boxes - inspiration empty today I guess.
Do you think Angus realises how green is just the right colour for redheads? LOL. Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Tea,
Boy, that was a big bouncing baby boy you had 22 years ago.

isn't it frustrating when you have a certain fabric in mind and just can't find it? I know you will find something soon.

Your garden is looking good--so nice and tidy in the front. I don't have any suggestions for the bricks either. I guess just make do this year and give hubby time to do it right. I think you will be happier in the long run if you don't compromise your plan.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

I'm not a building adviser either - definitely not my line of country! Knowing you you'll come up with something though.
Hope you had a great day with your son yesterday - he was a really big baby wasn't he?

Happy birthday to your son! You don't look old enough to have a 22-year-old!

And what a contented kitty, lying in the sun.

AAWWWW what beautiful pussy pictures! Leaves my Topsy for dead; she won't pose like that. But I think fluffy cats know they are gorgeous; our previous kitties were both fluffy, and always posed for the camera!

Why don’t you do the wood box and leave space between the patio and box to do the brick wall later when you have more time

Of course, you can build it yourself! Give it a try.
