Winter Things

We have a bit of snow here and I sure would like winter if this was all that stayed.

My Mum gave me this handmade vintage tablecloth. It looks nice for a bit of change on the table along with some paper mache peonies from a thrift shop. They were originally pink and I dipped them in acrylics and water to darken them.

I threw together an easy crustless breakfast quiche. Mixed 7 eggs with about a cup of milk, some salt and pepper.......

Then poured it over copped onion, red peppers, broccoli and ham. Then sprinkled mozzarella and cheddar on top. Baked it at 350 for 30-45 minutes. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the finished product...

Angus seems to match this chair. I`m only this far with my knitted throw. It`s such an easy pattern though. Only 3 rows repeated and knit in strips and sewn together. If anyone would like the pattern, I don`t mind posting it :)

Off to finish polishing the floors with Mop and Glo....love that stuff!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

I love your new tablecloth, and you did a great job with the flowers. I'd never have thought of doing that!

That pattern is only 3 rows?! Even I could do that. I wouldn't mind seeing the pattern for that.

Hope you are keeping well!

What a pretty tablecloth! I'm going to try the quiche for a nice hot lunch for us. No snow here yet but we had frost that lasted for 2 days LOL! Your throw's going to be so great!

You're very lucky to have snow - us Brits love the stuff (when we're inside and cosy!). Angus is a cutie as always - I can imagine he'll love the new throw to cuddle up on, which is coming together beautifully!

How are the toes?

I love your first photo. It has only snowed a bit here - just enough for the dogs to bring in mud. I would like for the ground to freeze and a deeper snow cover just so the dogs won't track in dirt, but NO MORE than that!

I am so upset with Gracie right now. She chewed up our dog gate Sunday and got into my mail today. Grrrr... Can we trade dogs?
(Penny would be a good girl.)

Beautiful tablecloth, Tea! And you're such a wonderful inspiration/example of industry, always making 'real' meals and trying out recipes (and sharing them with us!), crafting, sewing, etc.!

What a lovely tablecloth ... and it looks great with the flowers. I wouldn't have thought of doing your trick with the colour - what a good idea! You will enjoy your throw all the more once the snow (yuck) comes!

Snow already, well we don't get much some winters none at all so this looks lovely.

That's a beautiful tablecloth! And I really like the clock on the wall too. How hard is that throw to knit? I am very much a beginner and only know basic steps like knitting and purling? It looks hard to me lol. I would like to see the pattern if you get a chance to post it. Being left handed, knitting and crocheting anything other than REALLY simple things has always been a challenge to me. :)

We have no snow here in the UK yet, it is very mild compared to previous years. Your quiche looks great.

I love the afghan, but they are so $$$ to make, and I find them by the dozen at tag sales or Goodwill! I once talked a lady at a tag sale into keeping one...her grandma had made it for her 1st born, and she was going to sell it!!! AAAGGGHH

I like your theme of Winter things, the vase of peonies is so pretty sitting on your vintage cloth. The breakfast quiche sounds good, must try that, it would make a nice quick lunch too. Your afghan is nice, Pattern would be good though quite when I would do it I don't know as I have an endless stream of baby knitting to do at the moment. Hope Elvis and friends are well and tucked up warm for the winter:)
