Spring Is Definately Here....

This guy looks fake but he`s a real Crane. If you click on the pic, you can see him better. Our old dog Ben used to chase them away but Elvis isn`t interested in the fact that they love fish. There`s koi and goldfish in the pond. The koi are at least a foot long so hopefully he hasn`t been grabbing any of them.
I took this pic through the window screen and just as I snapped it he flew away. The camera was too slow to get that one unfortunately. There`s still small traces of snow but it`s almost all gone finally!
Hope everyone`s had a nice weekend.

We have the occasional Michigan Crane stop by our pond and look for fish.(which we have by the 100's!) They are so skittish tho, it is hard to get a photo of them. As soon as they hear the door open, they are off.
Our mornings are very cold, but our days are warming up into the 50's, so I have been out planting the early lettuces and peas!

Hi Tea, I have a plastic one by my pond...not in love with the thing but my Dad bought it for us as he thought it would keep away the real ones who have tried so many time to pinch our Koi!

The crane seems to be deep in thought. Perhaps it is reminiscing about other spring memories it has:)

What a pretty view you have from your home...

He looks like a Blue Heron to me. We get a lot of them here! We also get scarlet ibises, white ibises, cattle egrets, large white egrets, and sandhill cranes (UGLY!!!)

I was going to go with blue heron as well. Now I must go look up what the difference is between crane and heron!
