No More Snow Please....

*** I`ve just read at Royal Anecdotes that Great Britain is expecting a hurricane. Be safe everyone!!!

Elvis wasn`t quite sure what to make of all this snow we`ve had non stop since Friday.
It finally finished around midnight last night after causing much havoc on the roads where there was zero viability and an accident every two minutes!!
The next two pictures are taken through the back door. No way to open it because the snow is half way up it.
A wee bird was sitting in the back garden on a bush this morning...

And this is the back garden table and chairs now....

We didn`t go to the British Show in Toronto needless to say or even have the boys this weekend. Instead we clomped through the snow to my Mum and Dad`s last night and had a game of cards instead. I think we may have finally broken any historical records for snow fall now. Unbelievable!
I`ve finished my daughter`s afghan finally. Pure ivory wool and so nice to knit with. Chose a thin cable stitch strip to add in between the box stitch instead of the one it called for. Hope she likes it. I didn`t add fringe because I don`t think it would be her cup of tea or mine either really.

Hopefully this snow is finished now. I doubt it but at least.... almost? We`re planning on going to Toronto next Saturday to take my daughter out for a birthday lunch and then on to Oshawa for hub`s Mum`s birthday dinner/early Easter dinner at his sister`s.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend :)

Wow - the snow looks amazing. It's been sunshine & showers in the UK today although they are predicting gusty winds overnight and on Monday. Fingers crossed that it doesn't do too much damage.

This may sound reeeeally silly'..but I'm wondering what happens somehow with all those snow around there..Like it melts rigt"..then it must be slippery wet wet wet outside when that happens..hmmmm..

I hope to get to see snow someday...

Oh my god! How much work is there in that afghan!?!? (I am not a knitter, this looks like one of the labours of hercules to me!)
Thank you for thinking of us - Britain is having a Very Big storm, but it is so like us to make a huge fuss about it- hurricane it ain't! Mainly situated on the Cornwall/Devon/South Wales bit, so the bottom left of the country and I hear they've had some fun and games already, but where we live is inland near there, and we had some pretty squally weather earlier and more to come. Now if we hadsnow like yours, I guarantee the UK would have come to a standstill! :)

Gosh your snow looks beautiful, we have had dramatic rain and wind which while being quite thrilling isn't quite as good as snow.

Gosh, I've just looked at the photo of your garden table and chairs in your last post and thought that was enough snow but now they are completely covered. Snow looks beautiful as long as you don't have to venture out in it. Hope you have Spring just around the corner:) We haven't felt much of the storm here in central England but some coastal areas are really suffering.
Take care.

Snow! Argh! Snow is scary! I've only seen it three times in my life (when I was out of Florida) and that was more than enough for ME.

Hello Tea......

I’m pleased that you stopped by and thank you for the birthday greeting.....

So interesting to see your snowy pictures..... its amazing how deep it is..... I had to take a second look when I saw just the tops of the garden chairs peeking out of the snow.

I like to scan the world weather forecasts and I’ve been thinking of you when I’ve noted that Toronto has been getting heavy falls of snow...... it looks so pretty, but I guess you’ve had your fill of it now and are thinking ‘bring on the spring’. Well I hope you’ll have seen the last of winter wonderland scenes until next winter...

As you rightly heard..... Uk was hit by ferocious storms yesterday, the south and west suffered the most, they are promising that it will come in again this evening hitting the north, so we have not escaped completely yet.

I’ve been admiring the beautiful afghan you’ve knitted, It was even better when I enlarged the picture to get a closer look at the intricate stitches you have worked. It really is exquisite Tea..... a work of art that I’m sure will be treasured.

Have a good week and keep warm. Love - Marion

lady luxie,

We`re worried about that melting and hope it happens very slowly. Otherwise there will be some heavy duty flooding. Just heard that it took 7 million dollars to plow Toronto!

Oh, Tea, I am so sorry that you have had all that snow. I hate to say it but ours all melted away yesterday and today. But it is March and it is ND, so that may change. We've had huge snowstorms in late April and late May.

At least Elvis is not dragging in mud. See my post from today.

Hi Tea,
I am going to paint the frame in one of my F&B Whites !
I think the Snow looks fab....I would love a little over here!
Guy would need a wooly coat though as he shakes with the cold.
Hugs,
Carol xx

I have heard the news stories about the Snow in the East, Tea...it would be dispiriting, for sure. The gardener's fingers start to itch badly by now!

Thank you for visiting...it was so nice to see again!

The amount of snow you've had is quite incredible! Elvis looks a bit bemused by it all:) Love the afghan you've made, your daughter will love it - just the thing to have with all that snow around.

UGH - same here! Just heard that we're expecting snow later this week. I'm so over the snow infatuation =) I had a little talk with God today on the way to dropping my boy at school. I reminded Him that it's nearly Easter and we'd like to wear pretty, frilly dresses and not wool coats and rubber boots =) Blessings... Polly
